The producers of Aftershock are bringing back its GoldenSky country festival in 2023 with Jon Pardi, Maren Morris, Jordan Davis, Wynonna Judd, Eric Church, Parker McCollum, Elle King, Lainey Wilson, Nikon Moon and others. The inaugural two-day festival will feature indie-pop and new-wave R&B acts including Joji, Leon Bridges, Omar Apollo, PinkPantheress, Lizzy McAlpine, Stephen Sanchez, Channel Tres, Surf Curse, Dayglow, Inner Wave and more. Fans will be able to dance to the sounds of salsa music from all over the world as this event hosts salsa legends Willie Colón, El Gran Combo, Victor Manuelle, Jerry Rivera, Rey Ruiz, Los Adolescentes, Fruko y sus Tesos and Wilfrido Vargas.

Fresh off of a June edition that ignited Splash House's 10 year anniversary season, the August lineups continue to expand on the level of top tier electronic curation that makes the event a perennial favorite in the summer festival calendar. Set times were released Tuesday for the June edition of the popular Palm Springs music festival Splash House, which will feature more than 20 DJs spinning music at three resorts and the Palm Spring Air Museum this weekend.

Alex Schmidt ’27, who is quickly becoming a fan favorite on the Wabash stage, returns as Facebender, the eldest of the gang. Schmidt convincingly sells the verbose monologues of the Facebender persona, but makes ample room for vulnerability in serious moments. Schmidt and Clayton collide with electric chemistry, forming the comedic backbone of the cast. He never seems cartoonishly evil; rather, Strain plays up the thoughtlessness, portraying a man so caught up in his own reflection that those around him never even occur to him.

Catch its final two performances in the Fine Arts Center Friday, April 19 and Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m. Kelli O’Neill stars as The Nina, the central protagonist and new initiate into the world of air guitar. Her grounded, naturalistic performance nicely contrasts with the colorful ensemble and positions her as the audience surrogate, learning more and more about a strange, wonderful subculture. The three-day waterfront music, art and wellness festival will return to Lake Perris with Big Wild, Griz, Louis The Child, Polo & Pan, Hippie Sabotage, What So Not, Blu DeTiger, Boombox, Mija and more. In addition to concerts, organizers are offering "Field Trips," aka experiences outside the pools and museum to help festivalgoers unwind and socialize. All experiences are available at an additional cost (with the exception of two that are free for all festivalgoers).
Each resort has its own vibe, so guests can find a party and atmosphere that suits their tempo. A shuttle is also available to transport music fans to each of the host hotels so they can experience all the locations. The music and arts festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary and will have headliners Kendrick Lamar, The Killers, Odesza and Flume.

Five years later, that “opposite experience” has become the prevailing sounds of global dance music, with Splash House again delivering a pair of cutting-edge and on-trend lineups for the thousands of fans arriving in the Southern California desert oasis. Jeremiah Clayton ‘26 makes a splash in his Wabash stage debut as Golden Thunder. Clayton arguably steals the show with his animated but natural stage presence.

Splash House features bathing suit–clad music fans splashing and dancing in and around the pools to performances by DJs and live electronic music artists. The Sacramento hard-rock and metal fest will mark its 11th anniversary in 2023 with a four-day event. The lineup includes Incubus, Avenged Sevenfold, Tool, Godsmack, Limp Bizkit, Turnstile, Korn, 311, Queens of the Stone Age, Guns n’ Roses, Rancid, AFI, Megadeth and more.

Other acts include The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The 1975, Rina Sawayama, Kim Petras, Khalid,, The Wombats and more. Insomniac will be kissing 2023 goodbye and welcoming 2024 with its annual Countdown event with the out-of-this-world New Year’s Invasion theme. The lineup has yet to be announced, but the two-day event will feature several space-themed stages and in the past has included turns by acts like Galantis, Zhu, Deadmau5, Flosstradamus and more. Insomniac’s longest-running festival, Nocturnal Wonderland, is back for two days of music, camping and art. This year’s theme is The Cosmic Equinox, so fans can expect an ethereal forest with vibrant colors surrounding the grounds.
Weekend One features DJ sets by the GRAMMY-nominated ODESZA and indie dance duo Phantoms, along with UK house veteran Maya Jane Coles and fast-rising esoteric dance producer QRTR. Weekend Two features performances from Black Book Records founder Chris Lake, and DJ sets by versatile beatsmith Channel Tres and Norwegian brothers KREAM. The acclaimed venue provides an open-air dance floor and artists perform alongside historic aircrafts, all backdropped by the SAN JACINTO Mountains. Today, Splash House has announced the August lineups for its 10 Year Anniversary Season.
The Bachelor and BOP receive funding from the Wabash College Student Senate, which derives its funds from the Wabash College student body. Josh Campbell ’25 plays Shreddy Eddy, the air guitar purist and true believer in the art form. Campbell’s total sincerity is irreplaceable in a show with such a ridiculous premise, making the implausible plausible.
The lineup for the festival’s June edition was released in May, but the August lineup has yet to be released. After working at The Desert Sun for 15 years as a city government reporter and most recently an entertainment columnist, she began a new job at Desert Water Agency. But, she never lost her passion for writing about what’s happening in this SoCal oasis.
