The old-school soul and R&B festival is returning to Los Angeles for a one-night-only event with performances by Lisa Lisa, Taylor Dayne, Stevie B, Cover Girls, Expose, Trinere, Sweet Sensation, Nocera and more. Most 10-year-olds don’t get poolside bacchanals for their birthday, but Splash House celebrated a decade of music, revelry and pool floaties with a pair of back-to-back bashes last month in Palm Springs, California, for their decade celebration. New for this year, Splash House attendees will have the option to stay at offsite hotel options Palm Mountain Resort & Spa or L3 Oasis Hotel. Located right across the street from Margaritaville, L3 Oasis is just steps from the action and festival shuttles to take you between all host locations. There will be hourly shuttle service between Palm Mountain Resort & Spa and Renaissance Palm Springs only from 12-7PM (once per hour). Splash House is a co-production of Goldenvoice, the promoters behind the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival and Stagecoach country music festival, that was founded in 2013 by desert locals (and siblings) Tyler and Kelly McLean.
The two-day event will include sets by Blake Shelton, Tim McGraw, Maren Morris, Dustin Lynch, Tyler Hubbard, Flo Rida, Scotty McCreery, Kidd G, MacKenzie Porter, Luwiss Lux and more. The 43rd annual two-day jazz festival will take place at the Hollywood Bowl with pianist Herbie Hancock and Los Angeles jazz saxophonist Kamasi Washington co-curating the event. Kamasi Washington, Leon Bridges, Digable Planets and Samara Joy are among the artists set to perform.

The psych-rock lakeside festival will return to Lake Perris for three days of music and art. Each year, the festival brings together interactive art installations and screenings that can be found throughout the campgrounds. The 2023 lineup is still unknown, but attendees can anticipate an eclectic mix of rock acts.

Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Festival will return to Dodger Stadium for the first time since 2019. The lineup has yet to be announced but in the past has included artists like Drake, Solange, YG, Omar Apollo, Dominic Fike, Summer Walker and more. Fans are promised plenty of carnival games and rides, including a pop-up shop for fans to find merch and footwear from Tyler’s Golf Wang collection. Goldenvoice is bringing metal music back to the Empire Polo Club in Indio with the three-day Power Trip music festival featuring performances by Metallica and Guns N’ Roses on Oct. 6; AC/DC and Ozzy Osbourne on Oct. 7; and Iron Maiden and Tool on Oct. 8.
The Eddie Vedder-curated Ohana Festival will once again take over Doheny State Beach in Dana Point with The Killers headlining on Friday, Vedder on Saturday and Foo Fighters will close out the event on Sunday. Three after-hour sets will then be held at the Palm Springs Air Museum starting at 9 p.m. Saturday night with DJs On—1 back to back with Oren followed by Jean Pierre, and Gordo closing out at midnight. When the sun goes down, the party shifts from poolside to plane-side with a unique after-hours show at the Palm Springs Air Museum, which has a variety of vintage war aircrafts on display.
While utterly confident and commanding with his line delivery, he shines with physical comedy. You’ve felt it before – the music is just right, your friends are close, and all your cares fade away to the beat. However dynamite the performances and technical components, the script, while chock-full of funny moments, ultimately lacks real substance. While I greatly enjoyed O’Neill’s performance, The Nina’s writing was confusing at several points in the story. Her motivations for why she wants to compete in air guitar competitions are a complete mystery for the first 45 minutes of the show, clarified for a moment and then muddied again in the second half. That being said, her character also benefits from some of the best writing in the script, namely the intense scenes between The Nina and D Vicious which are again elevated by equally raw performances.
